What is VeriDeed?
Third party evidence remains the most acceptable form of evidence to support an audit opinion.

Title deeds are normally held by financial institutions in terms of security required for mortgage loans. Most often confirmation letters are returned late or never returned. Initial remarks from the Practice Review department of SAICA (Talking Practice Review - Issue no 2 July-Dec 1995) were that "The quality of independent confirmations …. is appalling."

Verideed can now provide third party confirmation of ownership details and bonds registered on properties directly from the national deeds offices.

Verideed confirmations provide the auditor with a:

  • Convenient - Staff simply complete and fax a request form to us.
  • Timeous - Confirmation print outs will be faxed back within 48 Hours
  • Accurate - Information comes directly from the Deeds Office - Department of Land Affairs
  • Acceptable - SAICA Practice Review Department have advised that deeds office printouts are preferable to those obtained from deed holders.
  • Cost Effective - Our charges, inclusive of deeds office charges, are R 70.00 per search (excl vat). This cost should, in most cases, be recoverable from the client.
